Sharks trade for Brad Stuart's rights
The San Jose Sharks traded Andrew Murray and a conditional 2014 7th round pick to the Detroit Red Wings for the rights to impending UFA Brad Stuart.
While this isn't directly related to the Predators and you all might think I'm posting this on the wrong blog, it could have big implications for Nashville. It thins out Detroit's blue line even more, possibly causing an even stronger push for them to get Suter. While Detroit might have let Stuart walk in free agency anyway, it's certain he won't be back now, allowing them to focus on other things.
It'll also be a story to keep an eye on if the Sharks get a deal done before the deadline. While Stuart and Suter certainly aren't on a comparable talent level at this point in their careers, it could help in determining market value for a D-man this free agency.
Well, mostly wanted to see what you all thought about this.
